My first trip to overseas with the boyfriend though we have been together for almost three years. This trip was a very last minute decision, as our exams finished on April 20, and we only confirmed for all the bookings on 23rd, therefore we had very little time for preparation and the worst part was our planned trip to Korea was on 29th so we had to finish packing for both trips within only two days.
Both of us were pretty excited about this holiday although this could be the shortest school holiday as only 2 weeks were given but we were glad that we could fully make use of it. I'd say the trip to Hong Kong was way too awesome compared to Korea, it could be better if we could stay a little longer.
Day 1 (25th April 2012)
We arrived at Hong Kong International Airport at about 6pm, instead of taking a taxi we took the airport shuttle bus to our Hotel, Metropark Kowloon, which cost HKD$130 per person about 20minutes drive.
Speaking about the hotel, this is my first stay with Metropark Hotel Kowloon, it's very small, but very cozy and very clean. Their services were good enough for a four star hotel. It's definitely worth the money we spent, as we only paid SGD$179 per night which is very cheap.
As soon as we unpacked our luggages we quickly went out for our dinner. The hotel is located very close to the Ladies' Market which also about 7 minutes walk to Argyle Street. We had our first meal at a random restaurant along Tung Choi Street which I couldn't record the name. After dinner we walked around the entire area which included the Ladies' Market and Fa Yuen Street, however, the only things I bought were a Hello Kitty Comb and a iPhone protector. Boyfriend didn't buy anything at all as he only enjoyed the atmosphere but not the goods. I planned to bring him to the Temple Street but canceled as I guessed he wouldn't quite like it as it's very similar to Ladies' Market.
| Halfway through, it started raining so we got stuck while buying Hui Liu Shan. |
| Really missed it! Hui Liu Shan is the most famous desert chain in Hong Kong, especially their Mango deserts. We were having their deserts everyday for the trip. |
| Boyfriend was expecting to see a lot of super cars in Hong Kong, however, this was the only one we caught on our first night out. |
We headed back to the hotel at about 11pm or so, with a lot of snacks from 7-11.
Day 2 (26th April 2012)
The next day was probably the busiest day of our trip, felt like we went to a lot of place. I made boyfriend to take train as I've bought two Octopus Cards from the airport. Frankly, in Hong Kong, fastest way to travel is by MTR, and their system isn't as screwed up as our MRT in Singapore.
| The view from our hotel room. |
| Tim Ho Wan, the Dim-Sum Specialists at Yi Chong Street, the queue was crazy, basically you gotta wait for at least 45 minutes. |

| We didn't want to queue for 45 minutes at Tim Ho Wan so we had this instead, boyfriend liked it very much. |

| At Sunny Bay station waiting for the Disney Train! |
| Inside the Disney Express. |
| Finally.... Disneyland!!! My 2nd time of visit! The sun was a killer on that day and we only brought one pair of shades out :( |
| My eyes were closed :O |
| At the auto ticket collection booth to collect our passes as I've booked the tickets online, which was at about SGD$70 per person, can't really remember the exact price but definitely cheaper than USS tickets. |
| Boyfriend changed to contact lens ;) |
| Actually I've already got 3 exact same design of headbands at home :/ but it's Disneyland again so who cares! |
| We didn't get to sit any rides here as the waiting time for all fun rides were more than 30 minutes. |
| Angry face, cos we were in a fight as I insisted of queuing for at least one ride but got rejected. |
| I don't know what's name of this ride we took it as the waiting time was only 5 minutes lol. |
| Boyfriend attempted to take down his high score which failed as the flash was too bright haha. |
| Waiting for the Disney Parade, Disney is a dream come true for every child, the parade reminds me so much of my first visit to the Disneyland in the States when I was only 6 years old. :') |
| After the parade, we rushed down for this, literally, we ran immediately the parade ended. hehe |
| We queued for 45 minutes to get this photograph :')) |
After the visit of Disneyland, I brought boyfriend to the factory outlet at Tung Chung, nothing much for me, but boyfriend bought quite a few shirts from Burberry and AX as the top brand there is Burberry only. But about HKD$900 cheaper than other outlets for Burberry. Boyfriend quite enjoyed the shopping there.
At around 8pm we left Tung Chung and took the train back to Mong Kok as we were planned to walk back to the hotel first but halfway through we've decided to just grab a taxi to Harbor City as our energy levels were running low.
| I brought him to the back of Harbor City, which is the car park with indeed awesome view! |
We had our dinner at Crystal Jade, and we ordered a lot of food as we were really hungry, but this meal only costed about SGD$100!
| After we re-charged ourselves with delicious dinner. |
| The city is just too beautiful! |
| Hui Liu Shan again. |
Called it a day after our desert and cabbed to hotel to watch TV, we both were pretty exhausted.
Day 3 (27th April 2012)
On the third day we went to Avenue of Stars, the weather wasn't awesome at all. We were supposed to go to the peak and all but changed to major shopping day.
| HAHAHA. |
| Cecilia Cheung ^^ |
| Piggy Beh |
| Little 'Cum' LOL |
| Star Ferry to Wan Chai |
| Spotted! |
| Time Square as usual, nothing much. :/ It took us an hour to get here from Wan Chai, and boyfriend was mad at me, as I lost my way, made him walking in the rain. |
My camera's battery died after this photo as I forgot to charge it the night before. After Time Square, we headed down to Causeway Bay for shopping till late.
Day 4 (28th April 2012)
This was our last day in Hong Kong as we planned to head down to Shen Zhen after check-out at 12 noon, however, boyfriend really enjoyed the shopping in Hong Kong, so we decided to go back to Harbor City again.
| Had our branch at Fa Yuen Street. |

| Flash mob of a beauty shop. |

Bought egg tarts :)

| Bought this outwear from Causeway Bay, about SGD$120, really love it, the shop owner didn't want to sell me at first as she wanted to keep it for herself, so I made 3 trips to persuade her to sell to me, I was so excited when she finally decided to sell me this. :D |

| The queue for Chanel @ Habor City was crazy so till the last day I didn't get to go in, as time was precious to us. :( But well, spotted this joker outside Chanel in 'Emporio Armana'. |
We finished our shopping at about 4pm so by the time we headed back to hotel to collect our luggages was already 5pm. We reached Shen Zhen at closed to 7pm and our flight back to Singapore was at 11pm. We had limited time, but the train station of Shen Zhen is driving us crazy, too big and too confused!!!
| My very first time to enter Shen Zhen by train, and it was a crazy experience. We got stuck at the train station as we couldn't get a taxi, wasted an hour and we gave up eventually and decided to go for a good dinner instead. |
| We had really awesome meal though we waited another 30 minutes at the Cantonese restaurant. These weird looking fishes were very yummy and fresh! But we had no idea what does it called, we decided to give it a try as we saw our neighbor tables were eating this dish. |
| Boyfriend and the weird looking fishes. |
In conclusion, this trip to Hong Kong was great, probably the city itself is just awesome. I was impressed with the MTR system especially, as I didn't get to take public transports often in Hong Kong when I was younger. Hong Kong is indeed a shopping paradise that no other Asia countries could ever compare, moreover, it's tax free!! It was a enjoyable trip and Boyf's falling in love with Hong Kong too. So we're probably gonna visit it again soon enough.
